Other Lovely Fabrics

It’s wonderful to see other natural fabrics starting to be offered, such as bamboo and hemp.
Bamboo is so soft and lovely, it really is a beautiful fabric. I recently bought a beautiful dress and skirt from Gaia Conceptions on Etsy. The dress is made from hemp and bamboo, and the skirt from organic cotton. I gave them my measurements and they made them both for me so quickly. They both fit perfectly too! Something else surprising and also good to be aware of is that synthetic fabrics are derived from petrochemical or natural gas which actually let off gas for the lifetime of the clothing.
Synthetic fabrics are treated with chemicals in their production. These chemicals can leach into the environment with hazardous effects for water, soil, air and wildlife.
It’s scary to think of the effects of the mass production of clothing made of synthetic fabrics, not to mention the amount of toxins sprayed into the world everyday in the form of pesticides.
Supporting the manufacture of organic clothing is a huge step in helping to create a cleaner world for generations to come.
